Oizom offered a comprehensive solution to help HPE monitor the environmental health of Banaras Hindu University and installed Polludrone on the campus. It monitored ambient air quality (via AQMS) like particulate matter, gases, and weather to aware the students. The solution showcased the data and also provided suggestive actions to help them make informed healthcare decisions based on AQI.

Problem
Varanasi’s AQI reached an alarming 384 in December 2018. Hence, as a part of their CSR, HPE wanted to monitor the environmental health of BHU’s campus. Simultaneously, to check whether the air inside the campus is safe for the students residing there and to be aware of it. Out of 5,000 cities and towns in India, a regulatory air quality monitoring network (AQMS) exists only in 268. Out of these 268 cities, only 24 have real-time data monitoring technology available. Hence, the rest rely on manual monitoring with insufficient data points. Thus, not having enough data to analyze and reduce air pollution impacts data-driven decision-making to improve the environment. Hence, setting up a dense network of real-time air quality monitors is thus needed to tackle the situation.
Offered Solution
yabo手机网站Oizom按工程设计ct around the air quality monitoring network (AQMS) for the students and staff of BHU. Oizom deployed 5 Polludrone Lite on the Campus to measure particulate matter pollution, CO, greenhouse gases, temperature, and humidity. The data is visible in real-time in our Terminal platform for analysis. Hourly/daily/monthly historical data is available for better research and comparative analysis. Environment data is disseminated to the campus residents through VMDs (Visual Messaging Displays). The students and professors of the BHU are now able to derive actionable insights using Polludrone’s data.
Impact
Empowering the think tanks and intellectuals with the air quality data as CSR is a novel concept. AQI alerts the people of the pollution level to take better health decisions. This is useful in understanding the air quality and ways to reduce it and spread awareness.
